100% Natural: The Power of Whole Food Tea

If you look at the ingredient label of most "instant" green tea powders, you will often find a surprise. It rarely says just "Green Tea." You will see terms like Dextrin, Maltodextrin, Anti-caking agents, or Soluble Tea Extract.

At Hyaku-pa, our ingredient list is very short:

Ingredients: 100% Organic Japanese Green Tea.

That is it. Nothing added. Nothing removed.

Why "Organic" Matters More for Powder

When you buy standard tea as loose leaves or bags, "Organic" is a preference. When you buy Matcha or powdered tea, "Organic" is a necessity.

Here is why:

  • Steeped Tea: You pour hot water over the leaves and throw the leaves away. You only consume what washes off.
  • Hyaku-pa (No-Brew): You consume the entire leaf. If that leaf was sprayed with pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, you are eating them directly.

Because Hyaku-pa is a "Whole Food," we have a zero-tolerance policy for chemicals. Our partner farms in the Abe Valley (Shizuoka) and Kirishima (Kagoshima) are strictly managed under organic standards. We rely on the natural ecosystem—ladybugs, spiders, and healthy soil—to protect the tea, not chemical sprays.

The "Instant Tea" Trap: Hidden Fillers

To make tea dissolve instantly and look "clear," industrial manufacturers often brew low-quality tea, dehydrate it into a concentrate, and then bind it to a carrier like Maltodextrin (a processed starch/sugar).

This means when you drink those teas, you are drinking a chemistry experiment. You are spiking your insulin with unnecessary carbs.

Hyaku-pa is different. We do not use chemistry to make our tea soluble. We use mechanics.

Mechanical, Not Chemical

How do we make Hyaku-pa dissolve without carriers? We rely on advanced Japanese milling technology.

  • The Matcha (80%): Our Abe Valley leaves are ground using stone mills and ball mills into particles so microscopic (c. 10 microns) that they naturally suspend in water.
  • The Sencha (20%): Our Kirishima leaves are precision-cut.

Because we use physical milling rather than chemical extraction, we don't need "solubilizers." You get a 100% natural agricultural product that reacts to water exactly as nature intended.

If It Sinks, It Is Real

Because Hyaku-pa is 100% natural leaf with no chemical additives to keep it artificially suspended, you may notice the tea settles if you leave your bottle standing for an hour.

This is a sign of quality.

Chemical instant teas stay suspended forever because they are fake. Hyaku-pa settles because it is real ground leaves. If it settles, just give your bottle a quick shake to wake it up. That "sediment" is the most nutrient-dense part of the plant.
