100% TRACEABLE
Coordinates of Quality: From Shizuoka to Your Cup
In the global tea industry, "traceability" is rare. Most big brands buy leaves from hundreds of different farms, blend them into a standardized mix, and sell it as "Japanese Tea." You never know exactly where it came from or who grew it.
Hyaku-pa is 100% Traceable.
We do not buy from the open market. We work with specific fields in two legendary tea regions. When you drink Hyaku-pa, you are tasting the soil and climate of these exact coordinates.
Coordinate 1: The Abe Valley, Shizuoka (80% Base)
The Abe River (Abekawa) in Shizuoka is considered one of the birthplaces of Japanese tea. The river mist and steep mountain slopes create a natural shade that boosts the Umami in the leaves.
- The Role: This single-origin field provides the 80% Matcha base (Okumidori, Saemidori, Yabukita).
- The Farmer's Craft: Our partners here use the "Chagusaba" method—a UNESCO-recognized agricultural heritage practice where grass is used as organic mulch to enrich the soil, resulting in deep, savory flavor.
Coordinate 2: The Kirishima Mountains, Kagoshima (20% Accent)
Located in southern Japan, Kirishima is volcanic territory. The mineral-rich volcanic soil and the sharp temperature difference between day and night produce tea with intense aroma.
- The Role: This field provides the 20% Sencha leaf cuts (Asatsuyu).
- The Flavor: The volcanic minerality gives the tea its crisp, refreshing finish ("Sharpness") that cuts through the creamy Matcha.
Why "Single Origin" Matters
Just like wine, tea has terroir. A Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand tastes different than one from France.
By keeping our blend restricted to these two specific origins, we ensure consistent quality and safety.
- Safety: We know exactly which farmer managed the field.
- Purity: We have full visibility on the organic certification process.
- Taste: You are not drinking a generic blend; you are drinking a curated harvest.
